Each year, the Veterans Day National Committee, comprised of nearly 50 Veterans-serving organizations, hosts the annual Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery. That ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. ET on November 11. This national event includes the wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by organizations that serve Veterans, and concludes with remarks from dignitaries.
To ensure fitting tributes occur across the country, VA and the National Committee encouraged communities and non-profit organizations to host VA-approved Veterans Day observances in their local communities.
This year, 33 communities in 25 states and the District of Columbia will host VA-recognized Veterans Day observances to pay tribute to America’s heroes.
Each approved regional site receives a supply of official Veterans Day posters, military ceremonial support from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and a message from the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for inclusion in the official program.
The list of VA-recognized regional Veterans Day sites is below. If your community is not listed, view the VA’s event calendar, which will be updated weekly with Veterans Day ceremonies, parades, and other events in communities across the country.
